Some sad, some good
Today we have some news for y'all again.
This time something sad and something good. Please read to the end.
The sad
Today we want to inform you about a decision that was hard for us to make.
We are postponing the C TUI version, as we underestimated the amount of work that needs to go into it.
The newest TUI beta can still be installed and will from now on live in the postponed branch on our GitLab server.
We would appreciate some help with getting the TUI version up to stable release standards.
Currently missing is:
- community scripts support
- upgrade support
- EL 9+10 (RHEL, OL, CentOS Stream, etc)
- premade scripts implementation
- support for the then current Fedora versions
The good
We will release libstp2 soon.
The stable build will be the same as RC1 as we don't have any changes planned before stable release.
The tui specific functions will remain in the library.
We want to remind developers that libstp will be EOL in one week, so if you didn't move over to libstp2 please do so now.
libstp2 has a lot of improvements including some important security improvements.
We will update the install script for libstp in time to make clear that we don't recommend and don't support the use of libstp.
libstp2 will move way slower than libstp did, as we aim for a better developer experience and a more stable API.
