EL downloads and cluster readiness
As discussed at the beginning of this month, we are seeing a growing share of Enterprise Linux (CentOS Stream, RHEL, EPEL) in our download statistics.
Following this, we changed our release schedule to one big release every 6 months and smaller bug fix, security fix and small feature releases in the time between releases.
Now comes the next big step, 2026.04 will be our biggest release ever.
2026.04 will bring back the TUI interface that we left out of 2025.10.
In addition 2026.04 will bring an implementation based on Ansible, to provide businesses and home labs with a cluster-ready solution.
We added the ansible-based version in Alpha 2 (2025-12-17) and are currently working on a client side binary for a more consistent behaviour across all servers the ansible-based version is talking to.
This new binary will be available with the next Alpha release as st-node and can be easily installed on all nodes through the -dn/--deploy-node use flag.
More addition coming soon.
