A new era begins

As some of you may know, the TUI version of Setup Tool has been deprecated for a while now.

That decision back in November 2023 was made because of maintenance burden and complexity of maintaining a CLI in C and a TUI in shell.

Today we want to announce the arrival of the TUI version in C.

We are still working on it and as such the first alpha will drop on 05/23/2025.

That version won't be feature complete and currently only supports Fedora 42, but support for EL 9 and 10 will follow in the first beta later this year and support for Fedora 41 and eventually 43 will follow soon after.

We are happy to be able to provide a new interface to interact with our program.

The additional time that we got for development of this TUI version comes from not planning anything big for setup tool 2025.10.
