A little new year's surprise

Today we want to suprise you with a small peek ahead.

We just released the first Alpha of LibSTP3 which we originally planned to work on starting tomorrow.

As a consequence we also released Setup Tool 2026.04 Beta 1 which is the first program to run on LibSTP3.

It's early and we don't want to promise too much, but one thing is clear LibSTP3 is going to bring big improvements in the section of TUI support and Ansible integration.

We already moved most of our Ansible and TUI functions into LibSTP3 and are going to continue developing and improving the library over the next four months.

We hope to bring as many changes to LibSTP3 as to LibSTP2 before and maybe more.

We also added some functions to simplify certain tasks for devs and are always working on providing a stable and reliable API and developer experience.

Most of the changes in Setup Tool 2026.04 Beta 1 are related to the move over to LibSTP3.

Of course we also updated the shell version of our library to be on feature parity with the C library.

Our monthly download statistics are probably coming out tomorrow or the day after.
